This workshop will identify and define the depletion, allocation and distribution challenges that arid regions face, and project how they may develop in the coming years climate change is a key factor affecting water availability. This workshop will present and discuss mitigation strategy including technology, governance, design, collaboration, education, privatisation and commercial investment and growth to provide a best practice approach to ensure water availability.
This workshop will address the following key questions:
- What impact will climate change have on future water availability?
- What strategies are in place for the future to help to improve water security?
- Are there new technologies , methods or systems that could help to ease the pressure during periods of high demand or low supply?
- To what extent is a change in pubic and commercial attitude towards water supply required in order to effect any change?
- How do practical considerations like distribution and location impact on a regions ability to effectively plan and forecast water?
- How may water rich countries help to assist with scarcity challenges through export and transportation programmes?
